Double the contrast, and Shizzammmm!!!

Welcome to another edition of Before & After post processing with Lucky Pro Photography. The edition features one of our favorite couples Chelsea and Jeremy.  Here we are going to focus on a very important aspect of post processing – contrast. Let’s get started!

Okay, here’s the original photo right out of the camera with no tweaks. This photograph was taken on a sunny summer day in Wisconsin. The exposure was excellent overall, but still something needs to “pop”. So let’s make this good photo an awesome photo!

Lucky Pro Naturalread more about it here. This is the initial technique used in the post processing of these photos. For those who don’t know, contrast is basically the difference in brightness between the light and dark areas of a photo. Increasing the contrast makes for a really dramatic effect. In this case, the increased contrast bring out more detail overall and darkens the sky, trees, water and pier. Balance is achieved in the light areas of the photo making it, well perfect! The same goes for the wedding photo below with the couple positioned against a brick wall.
