Adding A Little Spice To An Already Hot Recipe!!!

Welcome to another edition of Before & After post processing with Lucky Pro Photography. One of our most favorite type of sessions is Engagement Portraits. This is our first opportunity to observe and photograph the couple in a very intimate setting. With have been able to absolutely wow couples with their photos, and the editing we do takes it to a whole new level. Let’s get started!

Okay, here’s the original photo right out of the camera with no tweaks. We intentionally placed Kikki & Leon off- centered in order to capture some of the detail in the wall behind them – it’s a great capture in my opinion. Now let’s make this good photo an awesome photo!

Digital Cross-Processing (which a veteran photographer told me was impossible) – This is one of our signature processing techniques. There are quite a few things happening in this technique that bring this photo to life. We use some fill light to bring out the overall brightness while also adjusting the tint from a dull gray to a more flattering green tint and emphasizing the focus on the couple. In this particular photo I really cranked up the “darks” to add some rich detail  to the wall in the background…increase the light areas a bit more and add a little contrast and Voilà!
