Sam Austin, Local Model & Actor…
Welcome to another edition of Before & After Friday. Last week we were working with a shoe on a park bench. This week, a real subject. Sam is a local model and actor in the Dallas area who helped me to find my passion for photography. The photo session with Sam produced some really good photos…now let’s see what a little more post processing can do.
Okay, here’s the original photo straight from the camera with no editing. The question remains… how do we make a good photo an outstanding photo?

Lucky Pro Natural – We use this technique on roughly 80% of all our photographs… this is the defining process of Lucky Pro Photography. The technique begins with the subtle desaturation of all the colors which works wonders to soften skin tones. The photo above has a heavy orange tone in the facial area – we reduce this to a more natural tone and soften the skin. Next we add more contrast to the eyes to make them “pop”. Bringing all the color levels back evenly produces an more even-toned and even-saturated photograph. It doesn’t get much better than this!!!

Artistic Edgy Look - Since we are also know for our artistic nature, here’s an editing technique that is fun and somewhat grungy. This photo is sharpened, brightened, saturated and more… but it still remains balanced throughout. One thing that is very noticeable is how this edgy processing brings out a lot of detail – just check out the facial hair.
